Rural Terrain Mid-Range Carbine Course

In this course you will learn how to use your environment to your advantage in Rural terrain with other various structures and objects to use as concealment and cover to provide the most stable shooting platform in various shooting positions from 25 yards – 125 yards. We will also be covering shooting and communicating as a small team being able to move efficiently to and from cover. There will be a lot of movement in this class, sprinting to get behind cover and moving efficiently into different firing positions.


Course Objectives:

  • Safety/Med Brief 

  • Mindset 

  • Equipment setup (sling/stock position/weapon mounted lights/pressure switches. • Optic mounting procedures and zeroing your optic. 

  • POA/POI from 0-300 yards and (CQB Offset) 

  • 7 fundamentals of shooting 

  • Ready positions 

  • Positional shooting 

  • Multiple target engagement

  • Use of cover & concealment 

  • Precision marksmanship 

  • Trigger control fundamentals 

  • Combat marksmanship 

  • Recoil management fundamentals 

  • Reloading (combat/tac reloads) reloading on the move 

  • Malfunction clearing

  • Debrief  


Required Equipment:

•AR-15 equipped with Red dot or Magnified optic 

• Sling 

• 2 magazines (minimum) 

• Single belt mounted mag pouch (PC/chest rigs are welcome) 

• Eye and ear protection (electronic recommended) 

• Appropriate range attire (knee pads and gloves recommended) 

• Lunch & water 

• Pen & paper 

Ammunition:  300 rounds

Course Duration:  8 hours (8:00am-4:00pm)
