Red Dots are becoming more popular and rightfully so as there are many benefits to running a RDS equipped Pistols for both Duty and Concealed carry use. The RDS (red dot sight) Pistol class is designed for individuals that have basic familiarization with the Pistol. We will be focusing on the vital elements and Fundamentals of transitioning from Iron sights to a RDS equipped Duty/Carry pistol.

Course Objectives

  • Safety/Med Brief

  • Equipment discussion, pros/cons, Irons vs red dots

  • RDS maintenance

  • Mounting procedure for mounting the RDS

  • Brightness settings (manual vs automatic) dot wash considerations in low light.

  • Zeroing procedure

  • Finding the dot on presentation

  • Tracking the dot during recoil

  • Re-acquiring the dot after reloads

  • Weapon maintenance and storage

  • Debrief

Location: Perris, CA (Unless otherwise noted when selecting date)

Time: 9am-1pm

Cost: $200 - Range Fees Included

Required Equipment

  • Ammunition: 200 rounds

  • Semi-auto pistol equipped with red dot and backup irons

  • Holster AIWB or OWB Kydex holster. NO leather/nylon or SERPA holsters.

  • 3 magazines

  • Double pistol mag carrier

  • Eye and ear protection (electronic recommended)

  • Appropriate range attire (no open toe shoes or low-cut shirts)

  • Hat

  • Lunch & water

  • Pen & paper
