RDS Pistol Course
Red Dots are becoming more popular and rightfully so as there are many benefits to running a RDS equipped Pistols for both Duty and Concealed carry use. The RDS (red dot sight) Pistol class is designed for individuals that have basic familiarization with the Pistol. We will be focusing on the vital elements and Fundamentals of transitioning from Iron sights to a RDS equipped Duty/Carry pistol.
Course Objectives
Safety/Med Brief
Equipment discussion, pros/cons, Irons vs red dots
RDS maintenance
Mounting procedure for mounting the RDS
Brightness settings (manual vs automatic) dot wash considerations in low light.
Zeroing procedure
Finding the dot on presentation
Tracking the dot during recoil
Re-acquiring the dot after reloads
Weapon maintenance and storage
Debrief

Required Equipment
Ammunition: 200 rounds
Semi-auto pistol equipped with red dot and backup irons
Holster AIWB or OWB Kydex holster. NO leather/nylon or SERPA holsters.
3 magazines
Double pistol mag carrier
Eye and ear protection (electronic recommended)
Appropriate range attire (no open toe shoes or low-cut shirts)
Hat
Lunch & water
Pen & paper
