Carbine Foundations

A ground-up carbine course. We set the weapon up correctly, zero the optic, and then build the marksmanship and manipulation base that every advanced carbine course assumes you already have. Expect a high round count and individual coaching.

  • Equipment setup (sling, stock position, weapon-mounted lights, pressure switches)
  • Mounting and zeroing your optic
  • Loading / unloading procedures
  • 7 fundamentals of shooting
  • Ready positions and considerations inside the home / compressed environments
  • Precision marksmanship
  • Trigger control fundamentals
  • Combat marksmanship
  • Recoil management fundamentals
  • Reloading (combat / tac reloads)
  • Malfunction clearing
  • Use of cover and concealment
  • Weapon maintenance and storage
  • Debrief

Required Equipment

  • Ammunition: 175 rounds
  • Carbine equipped with optic (red dot recommended)
  • Sling (2-point recommended)
  • 3 magazines
  • Single belt-mounted mag pouch (plate carriers / chest rigs welcome)
  • Eye and ear protection (electronic recommended)
  • Appropriate range attire (no open-toe shoes or low-cut shirts)
  • Hat
  • Lunch & water
  • Pen & paper
